REFLECT is a transnational promotional initiative over a two-year duration to promote the economic and mobility value of acquiring linguistic competences. The project is co-funded by the European Commission and is designed to specifically support European objectives of improving competitiveness in European companies by reviewing and measuring language and cultural needs, competences and deficiencies in the UK, Ireland, Poland and Portugal. REFLECT will promote language strategies tailored to each country.
REFLECT will promote and disseminate the importance of language skills in SMEs by developing
  • An email information service in English, Polish and Portuguese;
  • And a reference guide – published in four languages (Gaelic, English, Polish and Portuguese).
The objectives of the service and guide are:
  • To promote the concept and use of the language audit;
  • To promote the use of language skills for economic growth and mobility;
  • To signpost companies to sources of language support and information
  • To publish the results analysis and recommendations arising from the survey of language needs and strategies.
REFLECT is a two-year initiative which commenced on 1st December 2000 and will conclude in December 2002.
